Enemy types

Current classics to recognise

The fake upgrade call. "Loyalty team" offers a great deal, then needs a code to "verify you" — that code hands over your account. Real offers live in the official app; check there, five seconds.
The spoofed number. Your screen shows the network's real number; a criminal is speaking. Screens prove nothing — hang up, dial fresh from your bill, never redial from history.
SIM-swap. Your number moved to a criminal's SIM; bank codes follow. Sudden no-service while others are fine = ring your network's fraud line NOW. Defences: eSIM mission.
The parcel/toll text. "Missed delivery, pay a small fee" — a card-harvesting page. Track parcels in the retailer's own app; pay tolls on the operator's own site, typed by hand.
The merger migration call. "Your plan must move because of VodafoneThree" — no. Real changes come in writing from your network.
